I have a tank I pulled out of a '65 Ford F-100 which is about 1/2 full of molassess-y gas. What is the best way to get that sludge out so I can use the tank?

Wash it out with water and then make your own solution of lie and water to let it soak for a few days.

That's right. Lye and water, hot as you can get it.
A radiator shop will use the same thing. ('Hot Tank'...lye & hot water)

Before you make a huge mess, check the outside bottom of tank real close for pinholes/rust.Tap on with a small hammer.I've cleaned out tanks like mentioned above and then found it was scrap. Now you got two piles of shit :D

Don't do it when the owner/manager is there. No need to ask why I know that tidbit but at least I don't live in that town anymore.
