Long forgotten but Essex frame rails and Franklin steering boxes were popular for prewar race cars and hot rods.

    Hello,
Please don't forget the 58 Chevy Impala Owners that made the simple add on of a third stock red lens to replace the center white, backup light on each side. 6 red lights looked a lot better than 2 reds and one white in the middle. We added a small white trailer light below the license to remain legal for a white backup light.

Of course, there were many variations of the 6 red taillights, but the most common was the addition of another stock red lens.

The 59 Cad tail lights are at the top of your list. They weren`t used as near as much as they are today. It was in the 80`s when they started repoping them. Then everybody used them. Things that are repoped today are over used because it is to handy to buy new instead of looking for something original. Like 51 Pontiac taillights. Among many other things.

  12. The era does make a difference, with young men returning from the service the a popular swap was buying a 32 4 door or 2 door sedan and removing the body and replacing with a 28/29 roadster body. HRP

'52-'54 Lincoln tail lights, especially into '49-'51 Mercurys.
