As far as I know, that '40 Lincoln Continental was built by "Dutch" Darrin. I knew the women that owned the car several years ago, in fact, I got it running for her. She sold the car to a guy that lives in Holland (I think) and has a house in Florida. He uses the Lincoln when he is in Florida.
Missed this thread earlier. Had the pleasure of not only meeting Derby but also enjoying his and other Coachcraft cars at Amelia Island. The work of Bohman & Schwartz, by the way, will be featured in a special class this year at Amelia. https://www.ameliaconcours.org/default.asp (This is working vehicle ... DO NOT JUDGE! Concours Road Sevice.)

I've had the pleasure of seeing Tex Meyer's car on several occasions. Very nice car, have not seen it around for several years don't know if Tex is still the owner or if he's gone to his reward. The car was nicely proportioned which is darned hard to do when customizing a 40
Great thread ......is this perhaps an old Coachcraft car languishing forgotten.... ( found pic whilst searching Google ) looks like someone has 'got at' that rear end but the front and centre are certainly influenced by their styling , if not theres .....
No its not a Coachcraft, its a home built Sports Custom on a Willys base with some Ford components. This is how it used to look in the early 50's. The car was owned, designed and built by C.H. Peterson in California.
Thank you Rik ....... Is there anything you can't answer ? I REALLY LIKE THIS STYLE OF CAR ...NOBODY IS RE-CREATING THEM THOUGH , WHY'S THAT ?
I finally had some time to go through my stuff.... Here are some photos of the "sister" car to the 1949 Coachcraft Cadillac built by Bowman & Schwartz for the same original owner Mrs. Morgan Adams. Apparently, it has recently been restored in shown in the LA Concours in June. There is a short article about the car in 1960 August Road & Track and recently in Automotive Calendar of Events (November 2008 issue). A high school buddy of mine knew Mrs. Adams and we used to take that car, then red, and show it around LA in the 60s. Perhaps 10 years ago he bought it and showed it at Pebble Beach.
