Chrome or painted 1928 model A what's stock

    My 28 A bone tudor has a painted grill shell. Did they all come painted or chrome or both? Inquiring minds an all that. Whatddya think ofhaving it brass plated? :D:D

    If I recall correctly, all passenger cars were plated and all commercial (trucks) came painted as standard.

    Actually, I think it was nickle plated originally.

    My 29 has a plated (nickel I think) grill.
     
  9. Correct above, i dont think brass would look that flash but would depend on what else your car had brass wise to go with the theme.JW

    Thanks for the input folks. I'll leave it painted for now, but from what I gather it should be nickle plated. The brass is out unless I go for some funky color scheme sometime down the road.

    It doesn't matter to me what they came with originally, I don't like plated A shells at all.

    Painted is the way to go IMO.
