Chopping a '51 mordor Merc

Hey guys, gonna be wacking a friends 4 door Merc soon, first four door for me. I've got a plan, but any input or tips would be great! wasn't there a thread on here about doing one of these? I couldn't find it. -Torch.

 

you'll need pieces to fill the door frames or donors be carefull and really think it out around the rear doors.I did my shoebox 4 door, took out the piece in front of the gutter as it goes down the c pillar, to make it look right.There's probably easier ways to do it but just plan out those rear doors.

brace, brace and did i say make sure to brace it? r u leavin it a 4 door or you gonna convert it?

 

I'm with ya on the braceing alright. Gonna leave it a four door.

get rid of that funky rear door window opening. make it flow gracefully like a 2 door quarter window and work that kink out of it. that will improve things greatly.

do a search here for the "sewer pickle"....that thing was nice.

 

make sure the rockers and inner rockers are good before you even think of making a cut to the top. also make sure the doors fit perfect and that the hinge pins are all good.
