That primer really brought it out nicely and i know you said that you like them but you most definitely got to loose the "Black walls" By the way, What's that steering column out of?
nice coupe.have a 48 coupe and thinking of chopping it when you cut the a-pillars did it fall right into place or did you have to make some cuts in the left and right top corners to align the a-pillars..???
Thanks me either...someday. Funny you say that I have some WWW's on order and the column is leaving post haste. It is out of a 79 pos donor gm. No relief cuts, but it didn't fall into place either, the "A" pillars lined up good with minimal shaping and the "B" pillars were cut out first, the "C" pillars are where the most work took place. Thanks.
See that coupe back there, the model A? hehehehehe.... That there "392" which is much much more. That is a bonafied topfueler, that now has some center squirter holleys on it so we can fire it on the floor and we use those plasma bags for that too.....on gas. It used to run 70% nitro with the injector on it in a fuel car waaaaaaay back. And then it made a show in a flat bottom drag boat for a stint, now it will be in the coupe soon, very soon. The problem is we have to pick up all the stuff off the shelves when we fire it and then tell the cops that is we didn't hear or do anything of the kind... I'm not allowed to say whose motor it used to be and in what car it was in.....sworn to secrecy.
I have a newbie type question. Since you added metal to the space between the trunk and the begining of the roof instead of leaning the rear window, was cutting out of the rear window even necessary? If you had left it in place it looks like you still could have extended that upper trunk panel and achieved the same look with the top of the rear window even with the top of the side glass. Is this correct, or would it have put the window down too low into the package tray area? I have a similar 47 coupe and was thinking of a similar slight chop as I do not want the windshied to get too small, it is hard enough to see out if it now. Did you consider raising the windshield into the roof? I was thinking that would be a way to get the roof lower and keep some glass to look out of, do you think that would work?
Currently sits like this. I posted some other pictures in the other linked thread also. Thanks for looking.
Yes, I had to move the window up approximately 5 inches to keep the window above the package tray and the trunk. The front and rear windows are all the same height in the roof from their cowl areas.
