I thought I would share some pictures of the 32 Sedan I bought off the HAMB. I'm in the middle of chopping it, but it is taking alot longer than I expected. A good friend of mine (Bob Halahan) and myself have spent countless hours trying to do the best we can. It is chopped 4 3/4" front and 4 1/4" rear. I angled the A pillers back and that is where all the time was spent. The last few pictures are just tacked together to see if it will work. It still needs welding and finishing on the drivers side post. I'll try and post some more pictures as I go. Thanks to all you have shared their ideas, and who also have posted pictures that helped me along the way. Enjoy
It amazes my how a chop on a deuce sedan can change it from something grandpa drove to a car that screams hot rod at any angle. (more so than any other deuce body style) I am also realizing how much I enjoy the look of leaned a pillars. can you post some profile pics for us?
When I get more time this week, I'll finish the welding and finishing on the A piller. I'll push the car outside and get a profile pic. I'm interested in seeing it also. I haven't seen a good side shot yet either. I still have to start the passenger side and then fit the windshield frame properly. Thanks!
Very nice...how did you come up with the front and back measurements? I planning on chopping mine the first of March and I'm still not sure of how much I want. So far between 3 and 4 inches is my thinking... anymore and my big butt will have trouble getting in it.
Great looking chop. Well worth the time and effort you are putting in IMO 32 Sedans look best as chopped high boys, Would almost trade my car for one
Truthfully, I wanted a 4" front and 4 1/2" rear. I taped the lines on the car and painted between the tape marks. Peeled the tape off and started to cut above the paint marks with a cut off wheel. If I cut on the painted lines I would have got my desired height. I cut just above the tape which made the extra ¼”, amybe a little less. I’m glad I cut the top that much because it just looks mean. My favourite car in a deuce 5 widow but I’m starting to lean towards my Tudor. Plus with the Tudor I can get my daughter in their. More pictures wil come soon. I'm going to work on it agian this Saturday. When I complete the finishing I plan on a nice profile pic. Thanks and stay turned...
Lookin gooder! Weld done. I'm diggin the angles. How bout some details of the rest of your plans. -Shiny
Looking great, I am building a 30 Chevy, that I have chopped 6 1/2 inches, and I have the same thought that you do; ( they look mean chopped that much.) I also wanted something that could fit the family, that is why I chose the sedan. If you are going to a solid top, I have found that the caravan, blazer, and jeep cherokee, are good donors, and they give the top a little character. Good luck with your build!
Here are some more pictures. I haven't had much time to finish it lately. I finished the drivers side A pillar but I still need to do all the final grinding and sanding. I'll keep posting as I go.
...a friend in our club is going to cut his 32 tudor real soon, I'll forward this thread to him; I know he'll be interested in this. Nice jobs on all those posted. I like Deuce sedans better than coupes myself.
