I want to run a chevy rearend on my t. Can anyone out there recommend one over another? And what should I look for in the junkyard? I'm looking for anything at least 55" backing plate to backing plate. With a 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern. Any help would be greatly appeciated. Thanks-stick

    That's a Ford bolt pattern.
Also Volvo, which is also a good bet for your width requirement.

Did Chevy use that bolt pattern on late models (80's on up)? I'm Pretty sure thats what I got the rims off of.

PS- 4-1/2" is NOT a Chevy bolt pattern. If you want to keep the rims, A mid-60's Mustang/Fairlane rear end would work.

has redrilled set ups. Sounds like you nead a Ford rear.
Unless you like to spend money.

  10. Bumpstick, I'm running a '57 chevy rear-end in mine with 4:88 posi. I know everybody says they're weak, but mine has held up for years and under some pretty harsh punishment.

It keeps go'in and go'in and go'in and..........

    Mouse?? What mouse?? [IMG] [IMG]
