I'm currently building a 66 Chevy II post sedan. I tell people, it's not a Nova. It's a Chevy II. I'm 69 and you are 100% correct.

Baron, my focus for Novas has been primarily on the 66/67 cars, I don’t see anything on your album page about your Chevy II, I'd like to see what you are doing on your car. I really wonder if your 66 and my 67 will ever get to be allowed on the HAMB.
The only good thing I can say about those faux spindle mount wheels is they are just a phone call away.

Here's a neat article on Gen.1 ChevyII's/Novas. "A full two years before Chevrolet launched the Nova's first factory V-8 option, Hot Rod, Motor Trend, and Car Life fanned the flames with stories based on two experimental prototypes. The car shown in the March 1962 Hot Rod and June 1962 Car Life was a white Nova 400 series two-door hardtop wearing California license plate 048. A second test mule based on a tan Chevy II 300 series four-door appeared in the March 1962 issue of Motor Trend. The MT four-door got a single four-barrel carbureted 327 that was described as having 340 horsepower and appeared to be a stripped L76 (no finned aluminum valve covers). Both test cars were four-speeds. The white car may have been converted later at Bill Thomas Chevrolet into an FIA Nova road racer with Corvette IRS and an add-on fiberglass fastback roof. If any of you Illinois guys have your own photos of "Time Bomb II", pictured above, I'd sure appreciate a copy. It and a '66 Chevy II named "Barbarian" were two of my favorite cars as a teen just starting to go to the 'strip in '68.
I worked with a guy many years ago that put together a really nice 63 SS convertible for his wife, silver/black top and interior, installed a mild 327 and powerglide, also did a five lug changeover with stock SS hubcaps. It was her daily driver for many years and a real looker, they moved to Hawaii and shipped the car over.
Plans are 5 lug with disc brakes. Original color after the quarters and rockers get replaced. Rebuild a 250 and stay with powerglide. New rearend with 5 lug. New Cragars all around. Basically like it is only cleaned up. It will be as close to restoring a car as I get.
Finally had time to get the Nova out, changed the oil, gave it a quick once over and then drove it to the local Putt, Park, and Sit Friday night car gathering here in Flagstaff. With the RED paint and the blown 409 stroker, it was a HIT!
