hey guys I'm going to run a 292 6 in a 60 c10--I need to know if an hei dist from a 230-250 chev will interchange; also will the power steering brackets work from a 230-250 on a 292 block Thanks for any help

  2. Yes, a later HEI unit will work. Langdons Stovebolt has new units available for around $100. Pretty much anything 292 after 1973 or so will be HEI. There are two styles available, but, I see Langdon only has one style left in stock.

I'd personally deal with someone like Langdon, as he has been around awhile, and is better than chasing some Ebay store if something should go wrong.

As far as the power steering brackets, NO, power steering brackets are specific to the 292 due to the taller deck height. That's how the extra cubic inches are made on a 292. It is a taller block. No others will work, although, the shorter 250 unit can be cut and lengthened to work.
