I got this 62 Mercury from a fellow hamber yesterday. Its all original including the stock 352. I would like some opinions on wheels. Should I do supremes, wire, or chrome reverse? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=886745&stc=1&d=1264975868
I don't see much wrong with the stock wheels. Lower the front to get it to sit well. Nice little rig ya got there.
looks pretty nice - stock wheels look fine , but if you have to jazz it up , Supremes would look cool
I'm wanting to make mild 60's custom out of it, lower it, might flake the roof. I'm going to put some new skinny white wall tires on it. Are supremes overdone? I see everybody put them on 60's cars. I think supremes are cool and all, I just thought about going a different route. Any opinions is appreciated? Thanks.
My thoughts exactly. Chrome reverse wheels with baby moons, spiders or just a chrome dust cap and lug nuts and paint the hubs. Then I'd lower it a bit but not too much and drive it and grin and not worry about going too wild on it. I can't see the metal flake roofs myself as they almost always look like they were stuck on as an afterthought. Alright if you are going for the lowrider look with all the bells and whistles though or if the whole car is flaked or paneled.
ohhhhhh paint it flat black with 100 spoke rims , red pinstripes , some carpet on the dash fuzzy dice from the mirror ((( you know I'm just joking )))
