I don't know who's rod this was but his efforts paid off http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2011/10/chop-shop.html
I wonder what it looked like after 5 months ??? Was it still complete or had it been parted. Sounds like it had been parted...hopefully only a little.
Just more proof you can't fix stupid. I'm glad the perps got caught and hopefully get the whole damn library thrown at 'em.
all the money they make you would think they would have a div for this kind of theft. I know in Portland you steel a car its ok but take a bike and they will kick your door in and good chance shot you on the spot, for looking even like you could have took it.
I did the same thing with my stuff that got stolen and found him on this site and set him up with auto theft task force. Got most of my stuff back and others too. He got banded from this site.
Goes to show you that if your not looking out for #1 then no one will. Good on the guy for turning those bastards in.
at one time if a mans horse was stolen and it was found in the possession of the thief there was an instant hanging. lets go back to some of the rules that used to keep this from happening. same thing for druggies.......
here's another article.. http://laist.com/2011/10/20/owner_of_stolen_1949_ford_shoebox_d.php the car was completely chopped
Here is the thread on the car. The owner is a HAMBer. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=593607
The bitch is, the thieves will probably get nothing. They were saying on TV the other day that with prison overcrowding in California if it isn't a violent crime you are released almost immediately........ala Lindsay Lowhan. The judge even admitted that even though she sentenced her that Lindsay would be out in a few hours. I think we should put any jerk who commits a crime on some island in the middle of the ocean with shark infested waters. Let them grow their own food and kill off each other. That would deter a lot of people from even thinking about crime. But we are too civilized for that and are paying the price. Very sad to see that nice Ford reduced to a frame and a couple of doors. So sorry for the family that loved it. Don
i saw that coverage tonight on TV - channel 7 news. they did a pretty good job with the story and i remembered seeing that 49 on here. way to go with the detective work! assholes like this should be branded on the cheek to let us all know who we're dealing with. basic google/phone # listing search on those names will shed some more public info. release them? that just might be justice in my book.
So lets here how you caught them MunsterGarage. Did they have any idea who they were dealing with when you wen't over to check out the parts? Glad you got some justice.
If your caught stealing should be automatic loss of a hand. Then see how many repeat offenders there are.
Good for that guy!! but I dont think i could wait for the authorities, i'd probably start busting some skulls with a pry bar....
