This might be a little off topic for the HAMB, but it's the only place where folks won't harass me with "Why would you want to do that?" comments. Here is what I am thinking about: Dodge V10 (truck engine) with homemade crossram intake (dual 4s) in a Sweptline Power Wagon ('68). I am curious about the factory ECU. Would it still control the ignition properly without any of the fuel injection system present? I know I would have to keep the MAP sensor. I could buy an expensive stand alone controller (XDI, etc..), but cheaper is always better. Just curious.
there is very cheap stand alone ignition systems, i recommend megajolt from the megasquirt guys. just steal the edis system off a ford v10 and wire in the little box. http://www.autosportlabs.net/MegaJolt_Lite_Jr.
Thanks. The Dodge V10 has edis. I should be able to hook up to the crank mag sensor, cam sensor, etc...
