carb qusetions??????????????

    I have a mopar small block 360 with a comp .501 lift and 289 duration bored 30 over with 2.02 1.60 cast iron heads trying to find the right carb for my application. this is in a 74 plymouth duster want to use a holley mechanical secondary how big is too big?

    CFM=RPM X CID / 3456 translates to the absolute total cubic feet per minute requirement of your engine equals the maximum revolution per minute that your engine will see, times the cubic inch displacement, divided by 3456. LETS use rpm of 5000 X CUBIC INCH 360 =1800000 divided by 3456 = 5208333333 or 521 cfm req. Most people say it is best to error only one size up. So I would look at a 600 to 650.
