i like to use combustion chamber cleaner, the reason is it works in 10 min, or as i take the carb apart i spray it down and by the time its ready to go back together its clean, thats the inside, the outside i use degreaser and a plastic brissel scrub brush, thats what i do anyway.

Been using Berryman's B12 for years, the spray kind.
I can't stand the smell of the dip, ain't used it in 20 years or so.
I just use the red straw and spray the B12 through the passages, blow out with air. If they are real stubborn I use a tip cleaner in the passages once in a while.

  4. Just got finished with a Rochester in NAPA-brand carb cleaner (gallon of dip).
Worked well for me, left the parts in overnight.
Smell is headache inducing, use ventilation etc, etc.

I've got the gallon can with basket of Berryman's for serious cleaning but usually use Berryman's or Gumout spray carb cleaner if I don't want to dip one.

I have the dip bucket as well, I bought it 5 years ago or so and it is the "environment freindly" stuff. Cannot get the good stuff like you used to. It used to be so strong that if you left an aluminum carb in it overnight you came back to less than what you soaked. LOL, I never did it but a guy I used to work with did it at work in the same stuff.. The smell is not as bad as it used to be either.

well at the moment there's 4 or 5 cases of o'rielly's brand carb cleaner and brake cleaner sittin' by the wall.. works fine, got a good deal on it..

but another parts house in town is payin' for the ol' man n' me to go fishin' so once this is gone (won't take that long lol) it'll be what they sell..

The California Air Recourse Board ---forced auto supply stores to remove the Berryman's Carb cleaner off the shelves---I think the Brake Kleen is gone to--

  10. A little OT, but I bought some really cheap carb cleaner at a dollar store in Las Vegas when I was there for NASCAR, and besides working great for cleaning carbs, it's got to be the best DyKem remover I've ever seen.
