I saw this car club plaque on an auction site but can't identify the font. I am looking to redo the shop sign of my shop an really like the font. I thought some of the sign painters or artists here could help me out. Screenshot_20210218-082852_eBay.jpg

The key to finding this font will be with the O and the S. The O cut down the middle is solid on the left side and the S is pointed almost like a backwards Z. With a quick search BROADWAY has the right idea with the O. Maybe there is a BROADWAY ULTRA HEAVY...don't know yet. We'll find it.

It may not be any specific font, just something that was invented on the fly by the person who designed the plaque.

There's also OFF BROADWAY that has the S you're looking for but the rest (like the R) isn't right.

You’ve got almost half of the alphabet there. Using them as a guide you should be able to figure out the rest of the alphabet pretty easily. Go for it.

When I get my hand clean I'll get on the internet and do more research. Thanks for a good start in my search.

Probably too late but casting suppliers had hundreds of fonts of wood letter and numbers in their catalogs for clubs to pick from. This was one of them….

  10. Before computers none of us ever heard the word "font".

  13. It's for sure an Art Deco font.
I scanned through the link below and spotted 4, plus or minus, that are close. "Standing Room Only" on page 4, for example........
and a couple more. You can Google search for more "Art Deco font" examples.

    Hello,

We all have Word Processing software on our computers and laptops. So, one way is to go to the blank Word Document and paste the Throttlers Hollywood photo. Then type in capitals THROTTLERS HOLLYWOOD separately.

Now, this is where you do your research by going through every capital letter font after highlighting the words, THROTTLERS HOLLYWOOD. Since it is highlighted, any selection on your font list pasted will show you how close you are or the exact font. Most computers have modern fonts, but some may have the old style fonts used back in the 50s-60s.

As you type in the words, THROTTLERS HOLLYWOOD it will show you what font it is and what style. 80er teenie demi...

This is only a partial list. I did not want to show you all of the fun in searching for those other fonts from websites, either.

From myfonts.com Give them a call to see if they can follow up on a search.
