Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Norrland, Feb 16, 2007.

  1. A friend of mine asked me some time ago if i would want to buy this ride for 350$. It need some work but would maybe be a nice daily driver this summer!! What you think?? Is it worth to save or schould i let it go to the Junkyard? It has a late 70's Nissan engine and a 5 speed transmission...
Check the link and give me a comment or an idé what to do with it??

I don't know what it is...looks sorta like a '57 Chevy...but yes, for $350.00 it'd make a nice sled...lots of body work already done...looks like all it needs is interior...but pictures can be deceiving...looks like a relatively easy fix for summer cruiser...

Buy it, finish it, drive it...

    Is that 350 U.S. dollars?

Either way...it shouldn't go to the junk yard. Somebody has to be able to complete a build of that.

looks like a 54-5-6 bop based on the shape of the back window opening. if the front is glass and the back window is close that thing can be real cool. setup for 51 buick tailights? slightly kanted quads. i could do w/o the fins but they are real nicely done. looks real good to me and for $350 i wouldnt hesitate.

  7. It's an 1958 Opel and the pricetag is 350 US dollars about 3000 Swedish Crowns.

It started life as the picture showing! an ordinary Opel Rekord 1958....

Kinda cool. I even like the stocker. But then I sorta think '50s Toyopets look cool too.

Are you kidding me? That miniature 57 Cadillac-styled custom Opel is a killer! Finish it up and you'll be the King of the Kustoms.
Don't let all that work and talent go to the scrappers!

I would buy it for $350 in a heartbeat, if it were a LOT closer. :)

  13. That thing is killer. I would snap it up in heartbeat. If it were here I'd probably be divorced for buying it hahaha you better jump on it.

  14. Why are you asking? In other words, what's holding you back? That's the best looking Opel I've ever seen.

    Thanks,
    Kurt

There is no thinking about it. Only action.
Letting it go to the junkyard would make you an accessory to murder.
What ever it is, it is kool. Change the color maybe, but it is kool.
If it was closer to Florida I would have to try and drag it home to be with the other 10 or 12 strays I already have.

Maybe I should make a trip to Sweden and buy the car and bring it to California, as opposed to the other way around.
    I like this little "thing".

you're crazy not to buy it, because even if you don't like it you can always sell it on ebay as rare and get buku bucks

Toss a domestic banger in it or maybe a V8-60. The thing looks a little rough around the edges but overall its a steal!!!!

  27. I will buy it as soon as i get a hold of the owner.... You will be updated what happens to the sweet little ride....

  28. Ahhh, peer pressure at work :D.
