...do me a HUGE favor please?...

...want to know if early '60's Corvair hubs and drums will fit my '63 Buick Skylark spindles. Or, do the spindles themselves interchange? Thanks a bunch.

  2. The Hollander doesn't list any interchanges on the spindles, hubs or drums on a Corvair and your Buick. Max

My Hollender's interchange manual doesn't show any crossover for those parts.

In all of my research with my Hollander's Interchanges, I have found they only list interchanges that are exact replacements or with very minor modification to make the interchange work. An example being Corvair hubs may actually fit onto Skylark spindles, but the interchangeablity will not be listed if the wheel bolt pattern is not exactly the same. [IMG]

  6. Yeah, with the skylark being a 4 lug hub and the corvair being a 5 lug hub, the whole hub/drum may interchange but the difference in wheel bolt patterns wouldn't show up as a swap. Might start by calling up your favorite parts house adn inquiring about wheel bearing numbers...if they're not the same, get the bearing numbers anyway and call your favorite bearing supply house to ask if inside diameters are the same, buick bearing numbers to corvair bearing numbers...it may show up as having the same diameter...
