Guys, this may be off topic,if so feel free to delete it. I picked up a model A doodle bug with some kind of planetary gear drive rear axle and have no clue what it's out of. Would like to find out before I send it to China,in case someone has a use for it. Thanks in advance.

  2. That's an oddball. Might be worth taking to a tractor show to sell.

Yeah,I thought it was pretty odd myself.I spent hours last night searching for clues on the internet. Didn't find a thing. I can also get better pics if it'll help.

I saw something like that with axle tubes running panet gears...a friend said it was early International. I just can't recall the exact details to compare.

...and it was at a farm/tractor/engine show..

I'm guessing from the ring gear bulge it might actually be pretty conventional except for case construction...but would sure like to see in case it is something strange!
Am I correct that the crossmember is actuall part of the rear, that axle setup just drives the vehicle and the crossmember looking thing is effectively the weight supporting axle??
