Can I-Should I,tig?

    I'm pretty well done building the exhaust stacks for my truck. They are 14ga. polished SS welded to a 1/4" SS plate at the bottom. I mig welded them, dressed them with a grinder and the base is bead blasted for a matt gray finish. Years ago, before mig welding, I would re-weld a stick weld with an oxy-acetylene torch to dress it up. I have a tig welder but I just have not used it enough to be good at it. For the guys who know the process, can I go back over with a tig torch with no filler rod to make it look more professional? This would be for cosmetic purposes only.

    Mig welds can be contaminated that can cause problems. try a test piece first
