Blew a head gasket on the way to the antuiqe nats a few weeks back so decided to pull the pistions and put new rings no more smoking and lost hp. All doing it while the motor is in the car. Doing this to get me by till i get my real motor going. Got some assistance fro my good friend dave old time flathead guru and hotroder. Did the rige ream and got them out. Hope to have it going soon. I miss driving my car. Billy

 I was thinking of going to Yellowstone to see Old faithful but it would be disappointment after seeing the Calori Roadster meltdown.

Gotta do what you gotta do to keep that one on the road. Nothing wrong with a rering to keep driving while the "better mouse trap" is completed in an unhurried manner.

It sure sounds like a traditional repair to me. I had to pull a piston and re-ring it 30 years ago on a 283 in my 36 sedan. It stopped the smoking and was still in the car when I sold it. If it was 6 of the 8 cyls then that's a different kettle of fish.
