2. To everyone,
Thanks to your support, our bill is moving on to the next Committee...

Here's the latest contact information for the next hearing. Since the list is so big, it's probably best to concentrate on contacting the assembly member(s) that represent the district(s) you live in. Take a look at this list and contact your Assembly Member. You can just make a simple phone call or e-mail, or be as elaborate as you want. The next hearing is May 3rd.

We have a huge momentum here, please call or write to help keep this going.

I don’t believe we will have any problem getting Republican members to support the bill, but it is critical to contact the Democratic members to let them know how important this bill is to you. It is especially important if you actually live within the district of one of these members. Please feel free to share your story (what kind of car you have—or wish you had—and what kind of events you drive it to), with a call, e-mail, letter or FAX in order to persuade them to support AB 1740. Now that we are going for the floor vote, we need to be very personal in our correspondence to your/all Assemblyman so I will not be attaching a sample letter. Each of your letters should be personal and from the heart. I know this is a long list but do your best, it’s for our hobby.<o></o> If you have friends, or know of other car clubs that live in the districts represented by these Assembly members, I would encourage you to let them know about this bill as well.<o></o>

Up here most of our out door car shows are affiliated with a charity. Maybe some of you guys who put on shows hook up with the lung association that way you are also helping and donating to the concerned agency.

Sadly today is the first I read of this thread and it was only by chance through another thread. I read all the pages and saw that early on a fax was considered a better response than email or phone call. Is that still the case? I unfortunately live in the Socialist State of San Francisco so it looks like I will be contacting Fiona Ma. What happened with Tom Ammiano, I saw his name listed earlier.

9. The faxes are the best, but the phone calls and e-mails are effective as well. You still have until monday morning, just the sooner the better.

The latest list are the members that will be hearing the bill monday morning on the assembly floor. Contact as many members as you like, most of them will be voting on the bill at some point.
