Caddy flathead info needed, please.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by hotroddub, Oct 12, 2010.

  1. Hey, well i just got 2 346 caddy motors. The one that I have right now is millitary greenish, along with the 3 speed trans. I was just wondering what color these motors were when they came from cadillac and where to look for the numbers to figure out what year it is. I think the car I pulled it from was a 1941, but i'm not too sure.
    Thanks, Dub...

They were an olive green, is the way I would decribe them.

Number is on the back of the block, drivers side, on a machined flat spot near the dizzy.

  3. I don't know much about them, but I came across this car and an extra engine they had in the garage. Its a '40 LaSalle

Not so crazy. Intriguing, yes. (did the weights have a +/- factor?)
    Manufacturing concepts are certainly progressive...
