We have been busy as shit today. The Boy and I have been working on a 31 Roadster (All real all steel) this week we have got this far. Today we sprayed the body, installed the engine and tranny, got the body set back on the chassis, steering column in. In the morning we will put the new WWW tires and wheels on, install the hood, electrical, rumble seat and fire it up. We have the fenders ready to go but haven't decided to use them or not. She's running a B model banger with and isky 3/4 cam, stromberg 97 as soon as manifold is ready, bajo rear with 3to1 gears, 39 tranny. The repo stainless insert fit the original 32 shell like turd in the sink. might have to go back with the original.
Great job! Awesome to see father and son progress on a cool old hot rod,...and with a banger in it no less! Can't get any better than that!! My '29 roadster will be getting a coat of a dark oxblood red,....very close to a 1942 Mouselle Ford Red. I vote,....running boards,...no fenders,...might seem odd but for some (odd) reason I like the look of the early 1930s dry lakes look when guys took off the fenders but left the running boards. Seen it in several photos and books,...
Oh and welcome to the HAMB,..I see you're brand spakin new. Be sure to do a search for the monthly "Banger" meetings on here,....I think you'll certainly find them enjoyable!
It cool being able to have Shelby work with me. When he finds the time between school, homework, and girlfreind. But if he wants some dough to put into his Super Cat he has to do what a working stiff has to do. Below is Mr Shelby himself. The girls at his high school thinks he just so cool with different cars to drive. I am proud he's into hot rods, rockin roll, and shit like that. These were last winter when he was learning to drive.
Thanks for the compliments!!! Boy will this thing get it. Drove it yesterday for the 1st time. Decided the fenders are going back on with the dual mount spares. A kinda sleeper restoration. LOL
"Today we sprayed the body, installed the engine and tranny, got the body set back on the chassis" Thats all you can get done in a days time?
Here's a good one...."busier than a one legged CAT trying to bury a TURD on a froze over lake"....ha ha.
We could have got more done.. but by the time the Capt'n stopped by, there was nothing else we could do except stand around with a leg up on the tire. HEHE Didn't work on it much yesterday as we were working on the little truck. Getting it ready to spray for tomorrow. We did get he tires and wheels mounted along with the seats rumble lid and firing it up. Maybe more this week. I plan on spraying the fenders Tuesday and maybe get those on Shit if we get that far we be done. COOL!
Here is a before when I first picked it up. Not bad for sitting for almost 40 yrs. right out of the barn. Thanks Tman
Here are some of the interior, They were done in "64" They still looked good so we reused them as is.
Almost done. decided on the fenders and a few new goodies. The new lion head should be here this week along with the zepher intake to go with the twin 97s.
