Not sure if this has been posted yet, but just caught this in the news: ttp://www.myfoxdetroit.com/story/18964475/classic-1930-ford-stolen-from-henry-ford-museum-lot?clienttype=printable I'll delete is there is already a thread on this.
Oh man, that poor person/people lost the entire vacation rig. Model A, Trailer AND F-250! Not too mention where it was stolen from...just adds salt to the wound. Terrible.
I work on Oakwood, right down the street from the museum and live close by also. I'll keep my eye on ebay and craigslist for local parts sales. Lets keep this up top. Its.terrible for the people and this area. Anyone hear how they are getting home? Heres a link to the story that works: http://wap.myfoxdetroit.com/w/main/story/66650243/
makes me wonder if they even knew what was in the trailer? Anyone who's selling at the Ford and Mercury Restorers Club swap in belleville mich in 2 weeks should be on the look out for anyone asking if they are interested in buying model A parts. You wouldnt think the crooks would show up at an event like this trying to get rid of stuff but sometimes they arent the brightest bunch.
Welcome to Detroit. It unfortunetly is becoming like the Wild West around here. Glead to see they got the car and trailer. Trailers were popular targets for illegals running landscape or construction crews a couple years ago. It has gotten so shitty here even they all moved on for the most part!
Glad to see that the car was recovered. A few years ago new and late model White Ford pickups were such a high theft item around there that the dealers locked them up at night or blocked them in so it was too much trouble to try and steal one.
Well, they got the critical part back. Too bad on the F-250, but there is no shortage of those and hopefully it was fully insured and he can just replace it with an even better maybe maybe. I guess he'll need one quick to get the trailer and car back to CA though.
