Here's a "smiley" made from 1 3/4" seamless 4130 tubing. The spring perches are welded on and there are swivels on both sides, shackle on one side only for track use. Wishbones have fabricated 4130 yokes welded into Model A rear wishbone oval sections with a class 8 bolt going through a spud, welded into the axle tube at the proper caster angle.

Speed Way is a good place to find spindles and brake stuff Ford and Chevy

I have Ford and Chevy ends that you
can just slip in and weld in your tube. King pin boss all honed and ready to go.

    I should note
ends in pic are for sprint cars. My street ends have a lot more meat

Here's one I built last Friday. Not a hard thing to do but not exactly an oil change though. Use 2 inch 1/4 wall DOM, machine the bosses for Chevy or Ford spindles, weld the Fords on at 9 degrees or the chevy at 4 degrees. Weld carefully.

Any muffler shop can bend the tubing for a dropped axle. Machine about .025 off the big end of a Chevy spindle and the mid size GM rotors will fit right on (basically). A few details left out but not a problem to do.

I would love to see the face of the guy at the muffler shop when you bring him a 2" .250 wall tube

Most guys set the king pin boss in the main tube to the center line of the boss.
A little more to weld too and a lot safer
With a Sprint or dirt mods car to pass tech your boss needs to have a flag welded to the boss and the tube
Not a big deal just weld 1/4 flat stock to the center of boss and cut a 1/4" slot in the ends of the main tube

Yes and dont forget to wear eye protection. I did bend a tube up for a F.E.D. but that was for a lighter car and we used an old axle for the king pin alinment.
Do you lone out or rent out that shop help you have there? I could use her for a week or two or an hour or two oh shit never mind think I need a napkin.

Mark Williams sells a jig that holds the spindles, the kingpin is automatically aligned and you just weld it to the xmoly tube. Don't even try to bend xmoly in a muffler shop as somebody suggested, get it bent on the right equipment with the proper radius - can't have any wrinkles in the tube. I'd do it with a .250 wall as another suggested, xmoly wouldn't bend but it'd be 'springy' with a thinner wall.
