Anyone know what other years/engines intakes are compatable. I have a 1953 263 and need to find a 2x2 intake for it. What other intakes (years) will fit?

Intakes from any 248/263 will fit...320 intakes will not...Go check out buicks.net and look at the straight 8 section. There are guys building manifolds on there right now...

  3. Ive been told that the only stock 2x2 manifolds were made in 41. i had a lead on one for my 320, but i dont know anyone who can weld cast iron..

1941 and 1942 buicks had dual carb intake and dual exhaust manifolds for both the small and large series I8. Eedmunds also made dual carb intakes for both. Either option is hard to find and pricey. Other than that, its make your own.

  9. for my 48 roadie, i found a manifold, cracked for 300 bucks. i thought about it and realized that it would cost me more than 300 to get someone to weld cast iron!

$300 sounds like a lot to weld cast. Check with one of your welder buddy's to try a 309 tig wire or some ni-rod from your local weld supplier. Some of the older cast welds easy, but heat cycles on exhaust manifolds can be tougher to get right.
