I plan on putting some 56 clipper tail lights in my Buick. I was wondering if anyone knows a sort of "direct" replacement for the rear bumper. Or can I just move the stock one down to clear the backup lights. Most I have seen with this mod run a two piece or what looks like a ford bumper. I wanna sort this stuff out before I start cutting.......thanks all!!!

I don't think there was anything called a "Continental kit bumper"...basically it was the stock bumper moved reward via longer brackets...and a pan over the top to hide them...

I've seen a variety of bumpers used with Packard taillights, from a '53-'55 Studebaker rear bumper to a '56 Chrysler...depends on how much work you want to do...

Have any of you guys taken pictures of how you adapted the packard lights to the car? I coulda swore I saw a thread where somebody used round bar to attach the lights and then wrapped the sheet metal around that but I can't find that thread. Anyway pics would be rad to see.
