Hi, I have a Dynaflow down here in NZ, not too sure of its year or what else it will fit. Cast into the top is... DYNAFLOW 1342992-9 then under that is 6 8 Can anyone help me ID this sucker ? I understand it came off a 55 vintage 322 but not too sure. thx,
My 1940-1963 Master Chassis Parts Book doesn't have the number 1342992, but it says 1342993 was replaced by 1389449. But under transmission cases it only list 1389450 as 1954-1955 auto trans case (all). I think '54 was the last year for the cast iron converter housing and '55 it was aluminum. For Dynaflow transmissions, a production identification number is stamped into the lower edge of the reaction shaft flange on the bottom surface of the transmission case directly to rear of the high (left, drivers side in U.S.) accumulator. The left high accumulator is a round shape with a hex-head bolt with very wide flange, off the left front corner of the sump pan. The identification number is a letter followed by some numbers. If you can find those numbers maybe someone can ID it better.
I think the I production code was used on 1954-1955 50 and 70 series (Super and Roadmaster) which had the 322 nailhead. Is the bell housing cast iron or aluminum?
