Nice car Nikke, great to see new customs popping up in Norway...and Oslo :)
    We need more of those.

Loose the portholes, it looks so much cleaner without them... Sam Barris removed them on his 1950 Buick as well...hint hint

See you at the Bonanza show this weekend?

Buicks are a breed apart, especially the early 50's upto '53. Keep the port holes. They are a badge to wear proudly. Best looking make in the GM lineup. Look at the prices the early 50's are bringing. For the price of one 1953 Buick you could buy a Chevy, Pontiac and Olds.

We`re living outside Lillestrom in Flateby and have some garages here.

We are some local friends just building cars for fun anf how we like them, we have worked our way trough old opel, bmw`s and a couple of volvo customs and for two years ago stopped by "bonanza" by an accident and after that its been pure customs :D :D :D

Nice 53. I say chop the roof! I've thought about loosing the ports on my 54 if I scallop the car to have a cleaner line. I've also thought about modifying them (frenched or later model..like 57 Century's) and adding a forth..which was actually James Ds idea.

  17. Like the car. Buick man myself. Buick without portholes is like a cow without tits. Kinda what makes it a Buick.

    Car is looking good.

I have to comment on the portholes again. Portholes are what most people use to identify a Buick. The main thing about having a custom, is having a car people can't identify easily.

So if you're building a custom, lose the portholes. If you're restoring a Buick, keep 'em.

The rear lights is a temporary solution and looks a bit "ordered by mail" to me but havent made up my mind yet but will see this winter.

    Any ideas??

I saw Bill Hines had freched buick 52 in to the feders on a mercury that looked good....

I kept the holes on mine but filled them with something from a different year just to catch people off guard when they use that to identify the year.
