Dang it. I had some of the best times watching HeeHaw. He was funny, and a great artist of course. I didn't even know where he was from until I pulled in B'field for the March Meet one year. http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/sns-ap-obit-owens,1,6465381.story?coll=chi-news-hed
What !?!?!?!?!?!?!? Is This For Real !?!?!?!?!?!? Shit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My stomach hurts... His heart skipped a beat one last time. LOS ANGELES - Singer Buck Owens, the flashy rhinestone cowboy who shaped the sound of country music with hits like "Act Naturally" and brought the genre to TV on the long-running "Hee Haw," died Saturday. He was 76.
Another good one gone. I danced to "Buck Owens and the Buckaroos" at a lot of good street dances (remember them???) in the middle to late sixties.
I remember watchin HEE-HAW when I was a kid. Funny show that kept the whole family laughing.Call BR-549, Hey Grampa, what`s for supper? Buck & Roy where some playin sons `o guns! That was REAL country music! RIP Roy.
Yep, he will be missed and he won't be walkin the streets of Bakersfield any longer. You don't know what you have until it's gone. We were spoiled and didn't go see him as often as we should of.
His Duet with Dwight Yoakum, on one of his more famous songs, sad he passed away in Bakersfield today. A huge loss. www.homestead.com/deesongs/bakersfield.html TURN UP YOUR VOLUME!!!!!
Damn! I hate to hear that... I lived on Wilson Street in Oildale in the 70's, right behind his recording studio. Saw him a lot, and talked to him some. He truly loved cars; I can still remember seeing him driving an Excaliber, smoking a pipe and enjoying the hell out of life. I hope he rests in peace, he did a great job on this earth. Jim
I worked for Buck as a DJ at KUZZ his Bakersfield station for 5 years in the very early eighties. He was a GREAT guy and a GREAT human being! He was probably the most intellegent man I've ever met. Friday night, march 24, was his last gig. He played at The Crystal Palace to a packed house and was really kickin' it! After the gig, he went home and at 5:00 am died from a heart attack.......................We'll miss ya Buck!......................Wolfie
i have his greatest hits on CD. i will have to listen to it tonite. the Beatles were also a fan of Buck's
I used to pick guitar in a bar-room country band. Learned all of his songs. He leaves those with all of us. Thanks Buck.
Oh that's funny, I used to live on Wilson and now live directly across the street from the studio. What a sad shame, but he gave us so much that even tho he's gone, he will never be forgotten! He sure did love his cars.....especially that ol Pontiac.
The best place to eat in Bako the chicken fried steak is too much, awesome! He will be very missed rest in peace Buck from The Royal Shifters of Fresno. The Hot Rod Reunion gang will miss him also.
