    as a kid growing up in joplin i read DRAG NEWS---and i really cared if swc out ran maz and who won top fuel at lions---BIG JOHN was bigger than life all over the country , great car ,great times---i was a swc fan myself but those red cars were fast and beautiful

    My husband and i were lucky enough to get to meet Big John. I was very nervous and could hardly talk. We have an old poster from one of his races from back in the day and he signed it for us. I'm very glad that i got to meet him.

    Rocky, in case you were wondering who the other guy in the picture is with you, K.S., and Big John, it's Dave Donaldson who runs the "Helter Skelter" Thames out of Washington, IN. His panel truck was on the Hot Rod Reunion shirts a couple of years ago. Just an FYI.

    Thanks for the pics and it was my dads favorite gasser!!!! Me and my wife just walked thru the famoso gates and there it was pure heaven. Been going to the CHRR for the past few years and had never seen a more beautiful car then that one.
