I dearly wanted a set of real WWII warplane seat for my 47 Pontiac Torpedo. Hearing I was without seats my 4WD building friend gave me a rotted out set of Beard super seats. Not exactly what I wanted, but for $50 who am I to complain. After cutting away the rotten vinyl and foam I was pleasantly surprised to see a neatly welded tube steel frame closely resembling what I was looking for. A little sheet metal with some lightening holes and I'll be in business. Pics to follow. I think it is always better to build it yourself.
Isn't a '47 Chebbie a little large for those seats? Throw them in and take a pic of it...just curious...
I'll take a pic when she's emptied out. Just scored a '49 packard rear seat that will be in the rear. Maybe tub frame seats aren't the best but they are better than new crap and I'm on a bluecollar budget. They are going to bet modified with sheet aluminum and rivets.
