Broke wind first thing this morning.
Parts wise, nothing lately, but I did the same thing in my 57 BelAir in the high school parking lot in 1970.
Right about now, the 57 Ford people are saying "I told ya Chevy's are nuth'n but trouble.

Now you know why the Junior Stock Chevrolet guys used cap supports or billet caps back in the 60's. Did it have a lot of "slop" or backlash prior to this happening? Wheelhop? I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Yep those bangs are not cheap, had the same thing happen in 60' in my 57' Bel Air streeter using a poor mans Posi welded spiders

A chunk of weld came loose and that bang sound, went to the Chevy store and bought a new 4.56 posi for 125.00 bucks

Learned the hard way on that deal always use the good stuff from then on

This wasn't a HAMB friendly transfer case but it broke anyway. That was a pinion gear on the left.

It wasn't my car. I had that conversation with the owner. He had the car on a low cholesterol diet.

That bang ain't good no where, one day at the ' Beach ' it banged at the other end as i let the clutch out it banged right under my toes as it took all the teeth off the cluster gear and low gear too

You get to hear the ' Ching - Ching ' sound that keeps you broke running these great old Gassers back in the day using stock parts

  24. In the '70s I thought my rear end was about to grenade, so I thought I would do it right. Reverse to first, wild burnouts, etc. turns out it was loose lug nuts. I ruined a a good pair of Cragars.
