Off to the stripper…oh la la, boom chica boom. My good friend from the Relics C.C. (Cabbie) came by to help me gut and load the body and doors. Stay tuned folks…..
Love all that I've read . Getting young help into the mix is a five star ***** move!! Only thing I read,I'd change, is the idea of not going with high gloss finish, real fact is high gloss is much less work to keep looking good* an buy far more water proof. Cost of paint is same, gloss wipes down n cleans up better. Not high gloss, just looks like a failed bad paint job to me,an many others. Extra love for V8 Olds Rocket, had one in my full custom "J" in 1960,awesome V8.
@nochop - I really like where you are going with this project! What's not to like about a full-fendered, Olds-powered Deuce 5wd ... painted Washington Blue ... with a choice of tire & wheel combinations (i.e., 5 spokes or Steelies with '56 Olds caps) ... and more importantly, involving your grandson in the rebuild! On a side-note, I see you were stocking up on some "cold beverages": - @HEMI32 (fellow Livermoron )
This car has always had a great stance, I'm looking forward to watching you guys put the car back together. HRP
If you have to use a electric fan I'd go with a rainbow products or cooling components electric fan as their only 2 and 5/8 thick, are quiet, and work great, but are pricey. The rainbow products fans are exactly the same as the cooling components ones just a lot cheaper
Spal 30100400 16" Straight Blade Low Profile Fan, this one is only 2.05" at the thickest part of the motor.
I ordered this from Jeggs, they substituted a different (there house brand) fan. Over 3 inches thick and way less CFMs. Called Champion Cooling got a live person on the third ring. Item is on back order but should be in on the 1st. of April.
Love full fendered deuce 5ws! Cant wait to see it finished. Id do a rootbeer brown metallic flake paintjob with the five spoke mags, but I also love 60s rods. haha Gordy
