No worries... please dont take my post wrong, not trying to attack. Perhaps I was just a little tired after the show, again, my appoloies. There are some people that will always try to sneak in with cars that clearly dont belong. I wouldnt take a cat to a dag show or take a low rider to a 4x4 sow. But some do. Some do it because they are "rebels"... no one is going to tell THEM they cant be in the show maaaaaaaaaannnnn ! Others sneak in so they dont have to pay to get in the show. They will tell you they are just spectating and them try to pull their car in the show. Others just havent heard that Billetproof is a traditional show. Also as the show grows you get more and more that dont belong and try to get in. Strange but true. Next year we'll put up some barricades between the show car entrance and the parking area and cone off the paths to each so there will be fewer that try to sneak in. Come on back next year and we'll have a tighter set up to filter out the rides to dont belong. I'm Alan Galbraith, and I endorse this message
No worries Alan, sorry if I came across as being a jerk. Believe me that wasn't my intention. I really didn't know those guys were slipping through the cracks. I thought there was only one way into the show and these guys were getting a free pass. Like I said, I got some shit last year for bringing a non running car on a trailer and almost got bounced from the show. I just couldn't figure out how some of the more modern cars were getting in there with no hastles. Believe me, I'll be there next year. I've gotten a lot of enjoyment from the last four Billetproof Detroit's so you can sign me up for a little help next year. Some guys from my club helped out this year, so I don't mind pulling a gate goon shift for 2009.
Whats the date for next year?!?!?!? I had a blast like usual. Last year we pushed the car in. This year I drove it into the show I just didn't have plates/ insurance, and no taillights/brake lights. Next year it will make the whole trip... on its own!!
Looks like the show was a success. From the pics I see a lot of sweet rides. Wanted to try and get up there for it but just wasn't feasible this year. Maybe next year. Congrats to Alan, the Detroit Poor Boys, and everyone else that helped out. Viva Billetproof !
Yep, and I'll follow with a tow strap. 10 minutes at Burger Thang and that car gets an ABANDONED VEHICLE sticker on it!
Because they don't "get" the difference between shitbox and hot rod. People who don't get it have been trying to get in since day one. There will always be some of the lame stuff at any show. Hopefully they leave with a better understanding of what is actually cool (to us anyway).
