Damn, I like this color! I actually like the red a lot more now with the wheels swapped out too but this turquoise is really pretty.

As I scrolled thru the palette there really isn't much that didn't work on this Mechanical Canvas, Gold, Green, Blues, Magentas...Bill Smith really was a man with a classic eye that liked going fast...he nailed a look that works so well with just about any color...

I'm sure even the Red works...Austin is taking it back However and he will have to choose and both are historically important...So Awesome.

This car deserves to be returned to its Sunset Orchid hue, and that makes a good name, to boot!

Will you try to swap the blue dot HD taillight lenses for virgin units? I hope so.

And I'm so glad you're going with the flipper wheelcovers!

    Thanks Stogy
Any color would work on this car
The red on the fenders is different from the body
They had some trouble painting it in 1981 Bill wanted red painter didn’t want too do red
So that’s why there’s a hodgepodge of colors on this car.
Just too make it go too the same party that’s why I want too paint it.

Fantastic! An original one-off custom hot rod with great provenance, with a taste for speed from the get-go. The BBC is just part of the authentic hot rod progression. What's not to like? Congrats on a cool car. And BTW, model 40's just light my fire. This one is a real one-of-a-kind.

Start scuffing the paint. Is there an Earl Schieb near you?

I like the red. Sure it's not the original color but it does suit the car just fine. I'd be more hoping an appropriate steering wheel is next. That's the only other thing that would really bug me.

The Fiesta caps make all the difference in the world, it's a whole different car now.

I agree the whitewalls and Fiestas make all the difference. I think whatever you decide on paint it will look good, but now with era correct rolling stock the red looks great.

  29. If your goal is to restore to the '55 or '58 build(s), that knob wouldn't have been put on the car. It wouldn't have even come into existence until the mid '60s.
