Have you poked around Riksters site? There are some great examples of his work.... http://public.fotki.com/Rikster/11_car_photos/beautiful_custom_cars/bill_hines/ Here's a '53 Chevy chopped by the master who's retained his style... and is still working...
Yeah thats where I've found most of th pics of my car , and someone told me he only chopped one 51 shoebox . Buzz Bomb
I saw him at Paso Robles and Salina KS both this year. He is there to supplement his income with autograph money. Most likely he'll be back next year. The KKOA might ask him to chop a top again.
I know of two for sure. I was in his shop when he was building the original "lil" bat in 1956, and he has since built his own clone that is currently at Starbird's museum.
I have'nt since I bought the car , due to work or having the kids on the weekends . But I have to make a trip of it and get there soon , just thought I would try here first . Buzz Bomb
I called him at home a few months ago to ask a question...he said, "hold on, let me switch to the cell phone, it gets better recception, call me at this number..." I was shocked.
I believe the correct answer to be: several metric shit tons of them Sometimes I think Bill has done more chops than there are cars on the road.
Yeah , I know he's done a shit load ,I just wana see more of his work on some shoeboxes . Just to check out different lines , and see what else he's done . plus when I was told he had done just a couple 51's I said yeah right . Buzz Bomb
