Ive got a 32 frame from Squeek for my 29 Tudor and looking for the best mounting bracket for a Vega box. Most of the ones Ive seen in catalogs dont look strong enough. Thought Id try here for some help. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Below is a pic where Im at so far.My friend Sam ( SamIam ) is giving me a hand with the build. Its running a 327 with 3 deuces, turbo 350 transmission, Ford 9in rear end, 35 Ford wires with 7.50 16' out back 5.50 16" up front, exhaust manifold off an early Corvette so I can mount a generator. Mild 3" chop and body on top of the rails. Interior 35 Ford dash w/ early Stewart Warner guages for the important stuff and an old speedo out of a F-1 pick up. Seats are buckets out of an early T-bird. Lookin forward to posting pix here of the build as it goes.
I agree with making one too as others have said but i also really like the chassis engineering inc. mount part# ar2130 due to it gets the box closer to the frame.
you can use the same bracket for 525 steering gear. it's just a little bigger and makes steering a lot better. might need a small spacer. dick
The Chassis Engineering one is super solid and gets the box closer to the frame. Also comes with good instructions with real dimensions for the deuce frame. http://www.chassisengineeringinc.com/page45.html
Here's a pic of the chassis eng. vega box mount and their SBC motor mounts in my deuce frame...they nest together really nicely.
http://www.welderseries.com Try Welder Series. They have lots of other bracketry and such too. Pretty much every Model A and '32 Chassis component you can think of.
