I took my newly acquired 51 chev (that has been sitting for 43 years) for a test run tonight, only took about 20 miles for the radiator to pop....always something.

Where is a good reasonable place to get a new or recored unit?

    Thanks

    Will

Measure it, draw a diagram and PM it to me. I'll look it up and get a number for you.

Being a tight wad, I'd check with a radiator shop to see if it can be repaired first. If it's just a solder joint it's an easy repair.

I'll second US Radiator. Have one in my 57 Ford. Good unit and reasonably priced.

Walker is decent too for older year cars.

I would stay away from Custom Auto Radiator (CAR). I bought one from them for my 29 Coupe and the damn thing had the sides showing in the grille opening in front. They wouldn't take it back because it was a "special order for a SB Ford" WTF? Was I the only one with a 302? Then within the first year it developed a leak at a tank seam. They said they'd fix that, but I had to pay shipping both ways. Screw them. I replaced it with a Walker. That was 15 years ago and the Walker has worked fine since. FWIW I also have a walker in my other Model A too.
