Need a title for a project and wondering where's the best place to search for them. Never had to before.
Second the "historic documents" You can only buy historic paper work the other stuff is breaking the Law.
First off, What is your "Project" ? Year Make & Model ? Does it have a VIN # ? Does it have a "REAL" Frame ? Or a home made box Frame ? Body have any I.D. Tags ?
Lawrence Auto Title Service, P.O. Box 450, Taylor, TX 76574-don't have their phone #. Helped me fast, good and cheap.
It's OT because it's a 74. Thats why i asked for general info but it would be applicable to some future HAMB friendly projects waiting in line. Not sure if the body still has a vin tag or not, it arrives from Cali on the 20th. The frame is part original, part front clip and tube back half so not sure yet if there's a stamp on the frame or not. It's been tagged or registered for over 10 years so am I right assuming it would be out of their system. It's basically a body and rolling chassis so I'll hafta wait and see about any body tags when it gets here. It is for a keeper so I may look into the bonded title and th place in Taylor. Thanks
two bad it wont work for out of state guys, unless "titled in texas" means WILL be titled in texas.....
How lucky do you have to you have to get to find a "historical document" that matches your VIN???????
dont do the bullshit registration papers thingy.."historic paper" deal.. think about it..you wanna put your hard earned cash into something that might land you in jail and the car in the impound? also this area of the build should have been delt with before you plunked any money down on building it go to your local DMV or secretary of state and apply for a lost title..with the vin thats on the car..
Thanks everyone for the advice. Like I said, when i get it I'll see what I have and go from there. Don't know if there's any vin #'s on it or not. Don't know how I'll handle it, was just looking at all my options. Nothing shady going on and not looking to do that. Didn't mean to ruffle folks feathers.
