I need rear leafsprings for my 1950 Chevy 3100. I've been looking up new kits and also junkyard solutions. I have not come across a belair to measure myself but I have seen pictures and I'm curious if I can use the rear springs and install them on a chevy 3100. Both are mounted under frame right? I ask because I know where to get some bel air springs and my spring eyes are to elogolated to use. Has this been done anywhere? Something similar been done? Any advice you guys got?
I don't believe that they are anywhere close. This gives you the specs of your spring. https://www.truckspring.com/products/GM-Pickup-Replacement-Leaf-Spring-(8-Leaves-Rear)__22-195.aspx Now you need to hunt down similar specs for the Bel Air spring and see how they compare.
Sure they dont . thats why my 56 chry windsor has ford f150 springs in the rear they bolted in when the original mains broke in the mid 80s
The car spring are under the frame but they are narrow and i don't know about how equal the rates would be?
