This years Beatersville Car and Bike Show will take place on Sunday, May 29th at the Legendary Phoenix Hill Tavern, 644 Baxter Ave, Louisville, KY 40204. Beatersville Car and Bike Show is a celebration of the shade tree mechanic and engineer. We bring together some of the finest pre-1968 traditional rods and customs in the mid-west all bidding for the coveted Beater of the Year award. Last years winner was a 1930 Ford A Coupe owned by Dorr Johnson of Caledonia, MI. Dorrs car really captures the spirit of our show, it utilizes parts and equipment that are period correct for a pre-68 vehicle and was built to drive not to sit in a garage says Scott Shuffitt who along with Shawn Blandford host the show now in its 6th year. Beatersville also provides some of the best musical entertainment and this year is no exception, headlining the show is Davy Jay Sparrow and his Well Known Famous Drovers, Hell Fire Revival from Nashville, thEmpires are returning from Bloomington, Janie Rose and the Deadend Boys and 3GC. Another crowd favorite is the Miss Beatersville Contest that brings together some of the most lovely and talented pin-up style ladies in the region. Pre-registration for show cars opens Friday, March 11th at noon(est) and is $20, details at www.beatersville.com. Gate registration begins at 10 am on Sunday May 29th and is $25. General admission is $5, under 12 free with an adult. Rain or shine, no outside beverages. Beatersville is also hosting an art show at Liberty Tattoo and Art Parlor, 2801 South 3rd Street, Louisville, KY 40208, on Friday May 27th featuring a great collection of local, regional and national artist, live music and other TBA.
