Be Honnest - Too Much Bling?

    My good friend Dick Valenzuela gave me this 1933/34 Pierce Arrow gauge panel. For obvious reasons it is one of traditional hot rodding's most desirable parts. When I acquired it the surround was heavily pitted and the chrome was failing and the gauge insert had been hacked up to take some non-stock gauges. It was a bit of a mess. John Wright at Custom Chrome Plaiting restored the surround and FPM Metals used the old insert as a pattern and created a new one in "engine turned" polished stainless steel. They also sized the holes for modern gauges. For this mock up I used Stewart Warner "Wings" gauges.

    I know, it sounds a little like self aggrandizing gold chain jerking but every now and then something comes along that justifies some self indulgment.

    Eventually this will find it's way into a 1932 Ford of some type.

    Be honest, do you think this is to much bling?
