sooo many cool cars on this thread...can't single one out !! Heres my roadster ...its scratch built using zinc coated steel .Its tougher to form but all the laps and joins have MUCH better corrosion resistance than plain mild steel. The outside looks a bit patchy where remnants of zinc are after I've been dressing and filing my welds...its been sitting in my shop like this for 4 years or so and I just wipe it now and then with phosporic acid rust kill and its still good as gold..

A couple of updates on my '37, everything has been prefitted, air, cruise, wipers, power windows etc., installed, ready to knock down for epoxy now, and a couple of a friends chopped and sectioned '32. Chopped 2 1/2", sectioned 1 1/2"

Well when you have metal work like this, it's hard to cover it up. My '37 is in the same condition, but it will never see the outdoors before paint, but it is hard to cover up that kind of workmanship. I guess you only get it if you understand how very people can turn out that kind of work.

  18. Very true.
Best product on the market for bare metal.
Paint straight over it when you are ready for paint.

The attraction is that it is the best PREP thing to do if you really want to have the best possible paint job as you know exactly what the condition of the underlying metal is BEFORE you paint it. Also, it accentuates the beauty of the high quality metalwork (craftsmanship) that went into the build. AND, it serves as a historical record of the quality of the build. Plus it looks cool and leaves no doubt.

post 129 ... what are you guys running a bare metal factory!!! I LOVE IT!

  23. The bare metal cars have always caught my eye. The workmenship that goes into a body to get it to the point that it does not need to be covered up!!! Hats off to the guys that can make that happen, and I hope we will see this style for years to come.

[IMG]. Mines here. Been sitting for two and a half years thanks to a divorce. Hard to get back on track. Motor is already done too. 53 ford flathead with scat merc crank, Isky cam with adjustable lifters, Offenhauser heads, Mallory dual point, Dick York set me up with a SU359 and three carb set up, Egge pistons, Raja ends, etc etc... Backed by a three speed with manual overdrive and a narrowed s10 rear, 4.00 gears, eaton posi, and 31 spline strange axles. Uhhhhh I've got to go clean my shorts. I miss working on my ride. But kids and finances first. I come last. For sure.

Too many cars, so little time!
