Event Coverage Back To The 50's Roll Call (2022)

I spent the day getting ready for the 50's. The truck is fueled up, the vital fluids are good, it's washed with a fresh coat of wax and the engine compartment got cleaned up a little. The interior still needs some love, but I'll be able to knock that out one night this week.

If you're wandering around next weekend and happen to see my '58, stop and say hello..

 

I checked the weather report for next weekend...89 and sunny on Saturday, 97 degrees on Sunday. Bring plenty of ice and water.

 

Just decided to go last week didn`t send my registration in so we have to buy buttons.

 

Might be cheaper to buy a registration than individual buttons?

 

Have a registration form filled out just in case

 

I think it's too late now for that.

 

I think registration is open until Saturday, but you MUST be at the hotel at 1000 Gramsie (sp) in Shoreview by noon.

 

Got in 50 miles this morning, mostly highway speeds and all went well, should be GTG for the drive this weekend.

 

You folks have fun up there this year! We usually make it a family deal with my dad and lil bro flying in from Texas. This year many things conspired against us. Lil bro is on his honeymoon to france and Switzerland, Folks are housitting for them in Houston and Lavin just started a new job with little time off yet! So, here I sit with the week off working on my toys. It is all good, I am burning up a ton of volunteer hours for my sons Legion Baseball.

 

We made it to Minnesota yesterday. The weather is beautiful!! Blue skies, lots of sun and a great forecast for the entire weekend.


Cleaned the wagon today and heading to registration pickup tomorrow.

It's going to be a great weekend.

 

@J.Ukrop Your going to love it! You'll probably even write a feature piece on it. Get there early Sunday to Cruize the swap meet because it's on a huge asphalt parking lot and it's going too be close to 100 degrees Sunday. so dress cool and drink lots of fluids.

Gotta pass this year and it is killing me…But….putting paint on the Willys, and am pumped about that!

What a GREAT Friday at Back To The 50's! The sun was shining and the fairgrounds packed with more cars than you can possibly see in 1 day. I had the honor of meeting Joey @J.Ukrop I am so thankful he stopped bye our cars to say hello. Super nice guy....Joey, we hope to be in the same spot tomorrow, feel free to stop in for some shade, a rest and cold beverages!

@TerrytheK it is funny you wrote, my father was just asking about you, he said he called you a while back but was unable to reach ya.

Well, tomorrow we are once again off to the fairgrounds at Zero Dark Thirty. I will load some photos tonight.....12,000 cars to see and not enough time to take a pic of everything...but over the next few days I will share what I have...fellow HAMBers...

 

LOL! I still smell like Nitro from the vintage drag car they fired today....time for a shower and bed...back at it tomorrow.

 

I just got back home from the Fairgrounds. Sooooo many cool cars. That next to the last pic of the 70's custom painted metal flake Model A was awesome.
