I've slowly been working on making my roadster more my own. When I got the car, Titus helped me with a few things to make it more road worthy, comfortable and safe (http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=469452) Since then I've changed a few things, blown up the engine at the drags and generally driven the crap out of the car -- about 15k miles the last two summers. But the track width in the rear always bothered me. With some test fitting, Titus and I found out that we could tuck the tires 2 inches closer to the body by using a set of 40 Ford steelies. I picked up a set nearly a year ago but was too busy with my other two projects with Titus (http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=371150&showall=1 and http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=275101&highlight=bull&showall=1) and driving the roadster to do anything with them.

Well I just got the wheels on the car the other day with a new set of Stones since the last set was shot . . .

And not to worry, the Wide 5's have found a good home on one of my Tudors:

I'm really happy with the way the new wheels changed the look of the car. Gives it a 40's lakes influence I think.

As much as I love Wide fives and want them on everything, those new shoes are looking killer!!! You've got a nice lineup there in the stable.

Looks great! Question; where does one purchase a new set of '40 Ford type wheels?

Not new. We went through quite a few to find 4 good ones. Some from my stash, some from Titus' stash, one from towaholic. Once blasted they needed a bunch of filling and sanding before paint. Titus did a great job with them!
