Ehdubya, just curious, agree with 3035 and 1573 but where did you get 1568? How many 4CLs did Scuderia Milan have? deBoer lists four, three with sequential Telaio.

Bob, the 8c you show along with one of the 4cs are both accounted for; if the other 4c is 1568, its whereabouts are not currently known but no record shows it staying in the US.

I won't touch Bluto's assertion except to note that records have Bira Maseratis living in England either currently or at the time the Mantaray was being built.

Cris, I pulled the caption and numbers straight from the link I posted. It appears they had 3 sequentially numbered new 4CLs and 3 older ones...

Speed: The Art of the Performance Automobile, presented by The Utah Museum of Fine Arts is on going now through to Sept.,16 2012.
With the help of automotive historian Ken Gross who is the organizer and curator of the objects in Speed, they have set up a splendid exhibit
with 19 racing and high performance automobiles. We have many photos and all the details at TheOldMotor.com along with links to the exhibit
    you should know about.

^ As I recall, wasn't there a fellow member here from Argentina who posted about his car, and with pix of it racing around in the mud, muck and bad weather?

Amazing design... like a race car built by Jules Verne, or from a Wild Wild West movie! Gary

WRA Sanctioned 'Open' Vintage Celebration - Sep 29th, 2012 Play Day, All Day Willow Springs Paved Oval

President Bob Mastroleo and the WRA Board have arranged for exclusive use of the Willow Springs Paved Oval from dawn to dusk on Saturday the 29th of Sep., 2012.

This event will be open to all vintage open wheel cars, caged and uncaged with the exception of there being no down tube cars.
Also, cars will be grouped according to speed and configuration and each group will have seperate track times throughout the day.

All laps will be non-competitive laps, we are planning this to be a 'Celebration of Vintage Cars' and not a contest.

I'm particularly pleased with the prospect of older and slower cars such as my 1927 Miller Indycar Replica, Bill Barringer's 1938 Indycar and other slower, non roll bared racecars being able to run together in our own group. Many of these older cars have been sitting since the speed differential is so great in current vintage events.

Really look forward to another opportunity to celebrate our open wheel heritage.

See the flyer below for details.
All questions should be directed to WRA President Bob Mastroleo 626 358 2284 [email protected]

    Best Regards
    Carl Schulz

#8109 I know this Overland well, drove it, rather a pig actually, belonged to one of my best friends, today for sale by his widow. As far as I know the car is real, body made of galvanised sheet from a country watter tank or similar, yes very light.Hmmm.

I posted this photo here quite some time ago and later i shared the same image with the readers of The Old Motor. A few days ago Adrian Ward sent a message and let us know that he is in the process of recreating this beautiful piece of machinery. I hope he can share some build photos in the future but in the meantime, take a look at some articles with accompanying pictures that Adrian has accumulated over the years.
