Thanx for the post... I love these old racers with the re-positionable headlights. You don't see them often, but I like the idea of protecting the glass from rocks. Might just do this on a part time racer / hot rod one day. If you spun them 180, ya might be able to call it an aero device! Or paint pupils on them. Gary

A very rare postcard that I picked up from the Atlanta Auto Speedway. The track, I believe was only in business 1909-1911.

 

Nice postcard Dave! I'm sure you have posted some other images from this track with additional info from our Kiwi friend, ehdubya.

 

I found some photos in the past but cannot find them now....I will let you super sleuths find them.....I think ehbubya knows were they are.

 

Though you crowd might be interested in knowing a Zust Brixia 3.8 biblock engine and gear box (1906?) has surfaced here in Buenos Aires, bad news is a dealer has it with a ghastly price.

Keith, is that the Whitney Straight car that is now black and running Vintage Races here in the USA?

It seems the trees were protected more so than the drivers.

 

I didn't know Zust produced a 3.8-liter engine. There was the 2.8-liter unit but that was for the 1912 cars and by then the company dropped the Brixia-Zust name.
