Very rare 1957 Dodge D100 “Town Panel” that was originally owned by the “Atomic Energy Commission”. Nevada truck since new and last registered in 1970. You can still read “Atomic Energy Commission” on the doors and two of the original tires were “branded” with their logo. The original flathead 6 cylinder was locked up when I got it so the engine, trans, and rear axle have been discarded. The current rear axle is a Ford 8.8 out of a 1988 Mercury wagon with a 3.08 Posi and 11” finned drums (width is identical to original axle assembly) Just sitting in the engine bay is a “high water pump” 318 and 727 Torqueflite out of a 1971 Dodge motorhome that runs. The high water pump is ideal for this chassis and puts the fan dead center in the radiator. Also included is a new Lokar shifter for the 727. My plan was to keep it looking 100% stock but with an updated (but still simple) drivetrain. The drivers door has some rust at the bottom. Rear cargo doors also have some damage. The rest of the body is very nice. Original wood floor had been covered and is also in very good condition. The extremely rare original bucket seats are still present as well. Windshield is nice and door glass is new but rear cargo door glass is cracked. Doors latch nicely and locks work with original key. I have all new brake rebuild parts in boxes for it too. The “Town Panel” side emblems are missing but they are the same for several years. 1957 is however a one year only front clip (with cool hooded headlights) and doors are 1957 only too. In my opinion 1957 is the best looking panel Dodge made. The full set of 16” rims that are currently on it are rare (factory reversed) 1955 International pickup with 6.50-16” Firestone tires and new tubes (Beanie hubcaps are not included) Truck has a clean Nevada title in my name.
